In Bruges I met this weather-beaten master once again:
still clutching his sacred book, still leaning forwards,
decorated with seagull droppings, eyed by unknowing tourists.

Young people in cafés, when pressed,
could quote a couple of lines,
the deep lines on his forehead perhaps
