Company MK is based in Milton Keynes, Buckinghamshire.
Steering Group Announcement, December 2009:
Following the successful production of Stepping Out both at MADCAP in Milton Keynes and the village hall tour in Northamptonshire, the steering group had a chance to take stock of the state of CompanyMK following a period of high financial pressure on everyone in the amateur theatre world.
CompanyMK is solvent and debt free, however we are currently not in a financial position to mount a production in 2010 without grant assistance, and the chance of receiving grant funding is extremely slim at this time.
The steering group has therefore decided to take a production sabatical for 2010.
The steering group will meet in September 2010 to plan for 2011 with, hopefully, a better financial environment for everyone involved. This was not an easy decision to take but given the amount of hard work and good will generated around all of the CompanyMK productions in the past, we did not want to close the door on what has been achieved so far.
Check back here in September 2010 for an update.
Our versatile and imaginative group re-forms itself for every production, and we hold auditions for each new show, which means that we can attract the best talent available in the area. We started this policy with Company in 1992, and continued with subsequent productions, the more recent being A Slice Of Saturday Night and Into The Woods in 2002, and Closer Than Ever and Little Shop Of Horrors in 2003, Oh What A Lovely War! in 2004, The Boy Friend in 2005, Ladies 'n Love and Assassins in 2006, The Importance Of Being Earnest - our first play - in 2007, followed by Buddy. In 2008 we produced Death of a Salesman and City of Angels. In 2009 we produced And the World Goes Round and Stepping Out - the Musical, which we took on tour to village halls - a first for us!
